Indefinite Postponement of ECE and ECT Board Exam

Manila, August 12, 2013 – The Professional Regulation Commission announces the indefinite postponement of the licensure examination for Electronics Engineers and Electronics Technicians originally set on October 18, 19 and 20, 2013.

The Board of Electronics Engineering recommended the postponement of the licensure exam here and abroad. “While the Board anticipates new appointments to the Professional Regulatory Board of Electronics Engineering, it has determined that there will be no sufficient time for the new members to formulate questions and prepare for the October 2013 licensure exams”, the Board said.

The PRC through Commission Resolution No. 773 dated July 23, 2013 cited the need for indefinite postponement due to the vacancies in the Board, leaving only one (1) member. The Board, as a collegial body, is short of the requirement for a quorum to validly perform its duties and functions, specifically in the formulation and extraction of test items/questions, examination proper and releasing of results.
